Over and Out – 2KA turns off its 1476AM Sydney Transmitter

2kalogo-300wThe end of an era. A few weeks ago Futrends Pty Ltd switched off it’s Luddenham based 1476am transmission tower and Cool Country 2KA came to an end on AM Radio in Sydney. I had been working there on weekend afternoons for coming up on 8 years and got to play and talk to some of the worlds best country musicians.

I learned the ropes at open narrowcaster Cool Country 2KA and got to work with 2WS’s Cameron Syrett, 2MMM’s John Bond and Kix Country Brekky chick Kylie Daniel. I would like to thank them, station owner Ken Roberts and co-owner Noel MacDonald for giving me a start there and lots of fun times, great experiences and some life long friends.

Cool Country shall continue to broadcast ONLINE and I wish all those involved with the station continued success. I of course have moved on to being Sydney’s newest shock jock doing talkback on the 2SM Super Radio Network and shall continue to support country music where and when possible in the new job broadcasting out of Newcastle’s 2HD.
